Hello and Welcome to the web site of the University of Miami Kessenich Family MDA ALS Center. This center is part of the University of Miami ALS Clinic and Research Program. We offer a fully comprehensive multidisciplinary clinical center for the diagnosis and care of patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease) and their families. The staff of the Kessenich Center provides all the expertise needed to care for the many problems encountered by ALS Patients and families by ALS patients, from muscle weakness and spasticity, to communication needs, mobility problems, nutritional support, and respiratory assistance. Psychological and social work and rehabilitation services are all available. The help on the Kessenich Center staff is available irrespective of the ability to pay.
