Neck weakness in ALS patients is common, is caused by weakness of muscles on the upper back and neck itself .The head tilted forward causes great discomfort that is alleviated by neck massage and the use of warm towel in the area. The neck supports are available ready made or can be custom made to properly fit the patient.
